Stuart Mason who drew the original sketch from the idea of Zuzana Maresova.
Stuart studied Sculpture at Manchester College of Art and Design. In the years which followed he became a teacher but continued producing his own personal art work in a variety of media and forms. During this period he exhibited occasionally in London and various galleries across the North West.
On retiring from teaching several years ago Stuart began to concentrate on painting portraits. His distinctive work in this genre has been widely praised. Amongst many awards he has, in recent years, won the People’s Prize at The West Lancs Open and the Harris Open three times. He has also exhibited with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in the Mall Gallery in London.
Stuart became involved in the Prague Memorial project following a recommendation from a leading member of the local art community.
